About Us

I started embroidering 15 years ago.  At first it was just for fun, creating things for my 5 children, family and friends.  My friend then began to give me some funny sayings to use, which I put on bibs, I also made up a few of my own sayings.  This got me thinking that maybe I could start a business and share these creations by going to local markets, and from here Besgrove Embroidery has grown strength to strength.

I stocked up on bibs and started embroidering.  Soon enough I had a stock pile.  It didn't seem enough to put on a table at markets though.  I racked up my brain to come up with ideas on what else I could do and from here I found beautiful Embroidery designs to put on towels, hand towels and onesies.

It soon Became apparent that I could really expand as I could also sew.  As a mother of young children I wanted to keep creating products fir under 5 years but I wasn't quite sure where to begin.  Then it came to me!  My mother had drafted a pattern of a beautiful sun dress, which she made for me and my nieces when we were little and had since passed down t me when I had my two girls.

I wasn't a confident sewer to begin with. My sewing teacher in high school told me I was a terrible sewer and that I was useless, but I was determined and as I began I thought to myself "I'm going to show her".  I had a few hiccups along the way but before long I was sewing beautiful dresses.  So many, in fact that I gave some to my girlfriends and they loved them!

I was proud of myself of what I had achieved thus far, but when I looked at all my creations I realised I didn't have anything for boys. The thinking cap went back on again.  Soon after I added a new product to my line.  A boys vest with bow tie onesie, with nappy covers to match.

I took all my products to the markets and the rest is history!  From then on Besgrove Embroidery has grown and expanded their product line.  I now stock beautiful handcrafted dresses, vests, embroided onesies, towels, blankets, bibs, bandana bibs, hair bows and one of a kind tie dye clothing.

I love the atmosphere and buzz of a market and meeting my customers face to face and I continue to showcase my products at local markets.  However, I also wanted to create a convenient space for my customers to view and purchase my products.

Keep an eye on this space for our next part of the journey for Besgrove Embroidery.
